Children voice sadness and concern over new development proposals in Ringmer
For years we have taught our children to value and respect our environment and show gratitude and appreciation for where they live.
They do.
How can I, as a parent, continue to reinforce this, if we allow so much of our green space to be destroyed?
My children cherish the fields they look upon every day as they wake. They love to be able to walk out of the door and walk down country lanes, feeling and knowing they are so lucky.
They spend hours playing down by the stream next to Ringmer Primary School and this is directly under threat.
As my children heard about the plans to build in all these precious areas, the tears welled up in my child’s eyes, “but I don’t want them to build more houses Mummy, Ringmer will be a town and everyone will be grumpy”.
It’s a child’s perspective but it’s time to think, value and give voice to those who are often overlooked. We will ALL be effected in so many ways.
